BFUHS Pharmacist Recruitment 2026
The notification covers 454 posts of Pharmacist (Pharmacy Officer) under the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Punjab. The vacancies include 348 fresh posts and 106 backlog posts.
The written examination will be conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. Final selection will be based on the inter-se merit of the written test and experience marks, subject to the reservation prescribed by the Government of Punjab.
The recruitment carries 100 marks in total. The written examination has 90 marks, and experience marks carry 10 marks. Candidates scoring a minimum of 33% marks in the written test will be declared eligible, while those scoring below 33% will be declared ineligible.
Eligibility includes Senior Secondary Part-II with Science or equivalent, along with a Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, or Pharm-D from a recognised institution, or a higher qualification in the same discipline. Candidates must also be registered as a Pharmacist with the Punjab Pharmacy Council before the last date of filling the application form.
The Punjabi language condition requires Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi examination. The Punjab Language test is set at Matriculation standard with at least 50% marks, and failure to secure the minimum marks disqualifies a candidate from the final merit list.
The age limit is 18 to 37 years as on 1 January 2026. The notice also mentions age relaxation for Physically Handicapped candidates by 10 years, Ex-Servicemen with service-period adjustment, Punjab Govt./Board/Corporation/Commission employees and all State/Central Government employees up to 45 years, and widows, divorcees, and certain married women categories up to 40 years.
Selected candidates will receive an initial pay of Rs. 29,200/- per month at Level 5 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. If two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the written examination, preference will be given to the elder candidate.
