Grace Marks Policy — UBSE 2026

UBSE has a grace marks policy that benefits students who are very close to the minimum passing threshold. In specific cases where a student scores just 1–3 marks below the passing mark in one subject, the board may apply grace marks to push the student over the threshold. This policy operates at the board’s discretion and is applied automatically during result compilation — students do not need to apply for grace marks separately.

Grace marks are applied before the final result is published. If after applying grace marks a student still does not meet the minimum, they are declared fail in that subject.

Compartment Exam and Revaluation — What to Do If You Fail

Revaluation (Scrutiny): If you believe your marks are lower than expected, apply within 15 days of result at uaresults.nic.in — fee ₹100 per subject. Results published as a PDF in June/July 2026.

Compartment Exam: Students who fail in one or two subjects can appear for the UBSE Compartment Exam in August 2026. Apply through ubse.uk.gov.in after forms are notified — typically within 2 weeks of result. Compartment result is expected in October 2026. Only the failed subjects need to be reattempted — cleared subjects are retained.

Repeat Year: Students who fail in more than two subjects must repeat the year in the next annual examination (2027). Passing through compartment is not available for more than 2 subjects.
