Assam University Faculty Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 120+ Professor and Teaching Posts

Assam University Faculty Recruitment 2026 has opened online applications for more than 120 teaching posts. The recruitment is for Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor positions.

Assam University, Silchar released Employment Notification No. 2/2026 on 26th May 2026. Applications started on 6th June 2026 and close on 10th July 2026 at 11:59 PM at curec.samarth.ac.in.

The recruitment covers regular vacancies, backlog reserved vacancies and leave vacancies across departments and disciplines. The official notification is available on the university website www.aus.ac.in.

Eligible candidates need a relevant postgraduate degree and Ph.D. with UGC-prescribed qualifications and experience criteria. For Assistant Professor posts, the notification lists at least 55% marks at the postgraduate level, with 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD under UGC relaxation norms, along with a Ph.D. or cleared NET/SLET/SET as prescribed by UGC Regulations 2018.

The application fee is Rs. 1,000 for UR/OBC/EWS candidates. SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates must pay Rs. 500 as postal expenses only, and the fee is non-refundable.

Selection will be handled by duly constituted screening committees. If applications are large in number, the university may hold a written test and/or apply a marking system before the interview. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview through Speed Post, Registered Post or e-mail.

Pay scales are listed as Academic Level-14 for Professor at Rs. 1,44,200–2,18,200, Level-13A for Associate Professor at Rs. 1,31,400–2,17,100, and Level-10 for Assistant Professor at Rs. 57,700–1,82,400.
