Income Tax Odisha Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Opens for Tax Assistant, Stenographer and MTS Posts

Income Tax Odisha Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 has been released for 12 vacancies under the sports quota. The posts are Tax Assistant, Stenographer Grade-II, and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS).

The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Odisha Region released the notification on 05.06.2026. The application mode is offline through Registered/Speed Post only, and the official website is www.incometaxindia.gov.in.

The vacancy breakup lists 7 posts for Tax Assistant, 1 post for Stenographer Gr.-II, and 4 posts for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). The selected candidates will be posted within the Odisha Region of the Income Tax Department.

The pay structure listed in the notification shows Level-4 with Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 for Tax Assistant and Stenographer Gr.-II, while MTS carries Level-1 with Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900.

Eligibility includes Indian citizenship and age calculation as on 01.08.2026. Tax Assistant requires a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent and data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour. Stenographer Gr.-II requires 12th class pass or equivalent, dictation of 10 minutes at 80 wpm, and transcription of 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on computer. MTS requires matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board.

Sports eligibility covers candidates who represented a State or the country in national or international competition, won medals in Junior National Championships, Khelo India Youth/Winter/Para Games, Khelo India University Games, or School Games Federation of India events, represented a university in inter-university tournaments, or represented a State School Team in National School Games. Only achievements and participation up to 31.03.2026 will be considered for the merit list.

Age relaxation is listed under DoPT O.M. No. 15012/3/84-Estt.(D) dated 12.11.1987, with up to 5 years for general sportspersons and up to 10 years for SC/ST sportspersons.
