Gujarat GSRTC Driver Recruitment 2026
The selection process has two stages with weightage: an OMR-based written examination carrying 40% weightage and a driving test carrying 60% weightage. The driving test requires minimum qualifying marks of 35 out of 50.
Selected candidates will be appointed on a contract basis for 5 years with a fixed monthly salary of Rs. 26,000. No other allowances or benefits apply during this period. After satisfactory completion of 5 years, candidates become eligible for regular appointment on the prevailing basic pay scale for the Driver post as per GSRTC rules.
- Vacancy breakup: General (Un-reserved) 1385, EWS 681, SEBC 711, and Other (including sub-categories) 684.
- Educational qualification: Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board.
- Computer proficiency: basic computer knowledge through certificate, diploma, degree, or as a subject in 10th/12th.
- License requirement: valid Heavy Driving License (Public Vehicle) and RTO badge.
- Male candidates: Heavy Driving License must be at least 4 years old with 4 years of heavy vehicle driving experience after obtaining the HGV/HPV license.
- Female candidates: Heavy Driving License and badge are required at the time of application.
- Age limit is listed as 25 years minimum and 35 years maximum for General/Unreserved candidates as on 05/07/2026.
- Application fee: Rs. 300 plus GST for Unreserved candidates and Rs. 200 plus GST for reserved categories, Ex-Servicemen, and females of all categories.
