IISc Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for Teaching Assistant
The 34 vacancies are divided into three notifications. Instructor & Project Scientist I has 11 posts, System Administrator has 2 posts, and Teaching Assistant has 21 posts.
Instructor & Project Scientist I vacancies include Physics, Humanities, Mathematics, Engineering/Electronics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, and Mechanics & Computing. Teaching Assistant vacancies are listed for Chemistry, Biology, Earth & Environmental Science, Engineering/Electronics, Materials Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, and Mechanics & Computing.
Eligibility varies by post and discipline. The notification says qualifications, age limits, and emoluments differ from post to post, and applicants must meet the required criteria on the last date of application.
For Teaching Assistant posts, the age limit is 30 years as on the last date of receipt of application. Monthly emoluments are Rs. 30,000/- + HRA per month, revised to Rs. 34,000/- + HRA per month after two years. For candidates selected through NET or GATE, the emoluments are Rs. 37,000/- + HRA per month, revised to Rs. 42,000/- + HRA per month after two years.
Selection for Instructor, Project Scientist I, and System Administrator posts is through interview, with a written test possible if required. Teaching Assistant selection is based on a written test followed by interview for shortlisted candidates. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview or test, and candidates must appear at their own cost.
All communication, including interview call letters, will be sent only by e-mail. Hard copies of the application are not accepted, and only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
